Your own task tracker instead of Jira
A tracker is a small app. You don’t have to rent it per seat: run your own on your computer in the cloud, and let AI set it up.
Why it’s hard today
- Per-seat pricing grows with every person you add.
- Your tasks live on someone else’s servers.
- Self-hosting sounds like a job for an engineer.
How it works on Uno
- Get a computer on Plus$20 a month: 4 GB memory, 4 cores, Uno Work in the cloud.
- Ask for a tracker“Set up a task tracker for my team.” Uno installs Vikunja from the App Store and gives it its own address.
- Invite your teamLists, kanban boards, due dates and reminders — for you or for everyone.
- Let AI keep it tidy“Add the tasks from today’s call to the board.” “What is overdue this week?”
Next to the tracker: docs, a wiki (Docmost), automations (n8n), meeting notes.
Tasks live on your computer. Export them any time.
Vikunja is lighter than Jira: lists, boards, due dates, reminders. Big enterprise workflows are not its job.
Questions
What does it cost?
The computer on Plus is $20 a month, whatever the team size. Add Uno AI for +$30 (100 hours a month) or use your own Claude or ChatGPT.
Can I move my tasks from Jira?
Vikunja imports from Trello and Todoist. From Jira, export your tasks to CSV and ask the AI to bring them in.
Is it hard to maintain?
Uno installs the app and gives it an address. SSH is there if you want it, not required.
Your computer with AI, always online.
Your own computer in the cloud. Your AI and your projects live on it and keep working when your laptop is closed.
