How you set it up
Three ways, same result. In Uno Work, ask the agent: "add a contact form that sends to my email". It writes the form and publishes the site. Or write the form yourself, as shown below, and publish the folder. Or open the site in the console and change channels on its Forms tab.
Ask the agent
It writes the page, the form and the thank-you page, then publishes the site.
Write it yourself
A plain HTML form with action="/__forms" and a name on every field.
Change channels later
Switch email, Telegram or a webhook on or off on the site's Forms tab.
What happens when a visitor presses Send
The browser sends the fields to /__forms on the same address as the page. Uno checks the entry against its limits and the spam trap, stores it, and passes it to the channels you switched on. The visitor sees a result at once.
<form action="/__forms" method="POST"> <input name="name" required> <input name="email" type="email" required> <textarea name="message"></textarea> <button>Send</button> </form>
Every entry is stored, and you see them all on the site's Forms tab in the console. A plain form and a script both work: the body can be urlencoded, multipart or JSON.
Where the entries go
A new site with a form sends every entry to your account's email. Switch channels on the site's Forms tab: email, Telegram or a webhook, each with its own switch.
| Channel | What you get | Setup |
|---|---|---|
| Each entry as a letter | The account's own email works at once; another address gets a confirmation letter first | |
| Telegram | Each entry as a message | You connect Telegram yourself: a message from the Uno bot, or from your own bot with its token and a chat ID |
| Webhook | Sends a POST with JSON to your URL: a CRM, Zapier, n8n | Paste the URL on the Forms tab |
What the visitor sees
| You do | The visitor gets |
|---|---|
| Nothing | Without _redirect the visitor sees a short thank-you page |
Add _redirect | A hidden field named _redirect with a path on the same site sends the visitor there after the send |
Send with fetch | A fetch call that asks for JSON gets {"ok":true} instead of a page |
<input type="hidden" name="_redirect" value="/thanks.html">What happens to bots
A spam filter is on. Add a trap for the rest. A hidden field named _gotcha: a bot that fills it gets a success answer, and the entry is dropped.
<input type="text" name="_gotcha" style="display:none" tabindex="-1" autocomplete="off">A visitor can send up to 10 entries a minute, and a site takes up to 120 an hour.
Limits
| Limit | |
|---|---|
| One entry | 32 KB, 50 fields |
| One field | 8 KB |
| Entries per site | 120 an hour |
| Entries per visitor | 10 a minute |
| Price | Free, on every plan |
What it does not do
- It collects entries. It does not run logic: no accounts, no payments, no reply that depends on the answer. For that, run code on a computer.
- It works on sites published on Uno. A form opened from a file on your disk has no endpoint, so test on the published address.
- An entry is up to 32 KB: a request form, not a place to upload files. Put big files in cloud storage.
- Entries travel as text by email and Telegram. Do not collect passwords or card numbers in a form.
Forms are free. Logic needs a computer
