OpenClaw, installed and online on a server of your own
The OpenClaw docs call 4 GB of memory plenty. Plus is a Linux computer with 4 GB and root, and the agent in your chat runs the installer.
Three steps, then it is yours
-
Get a computer with 4 GB
Plus: 4 vCPU, 4 GB, root and Docker. Ready in about 2 seconds.} seconds.}
-
Ask the agent to install OpenClaw
In a chat in Uno Work the agent runs the official installer and onboarding. Put your model key in a safe field, not in the chat.
-
Open the dashboard
OpenClaw runs as a background service. You open its dashboard through an SSH tunnel; the guide has the command.
What OpenClaw gets from this computer
OpenClaw is an open-source agent with a Gateway that stays up and talks to you in a chat app. Here is what it needs and what the computer gives.
The OpenClaw docs give no minimum and call 4 GB of memory plenty for the Gateway. Plus has the same. Building the Docker image from source needs 6 GB; Plus can boost to 8 GB for an hour, or you can use the pre-built image.
Install OpenClaw step by stepThe installer sets up Node itself when it is missing, and the Gateway starts as a systemd user service. The agent installs what OpenClaw asks for, as on your own machine.
How the computer worksWith nothing to do, the computer falls asleep after 10 minutes and keeps memory. OpenClaw's Telegram channel uses long polling by default, and the docs offer a webhook mode. A bot on long polling does not wake a sleeping computer, so it stays silent until something else wakes it. Keep the computer awake, or try the webhook mode the docs offer.
Sleep and wakeEvery time Uno itself does something on your computer, it is written to your access log. OpenClaw keeps your keys and chat history there, so you want to know.
What Uno can seeAn agent that browses and signs in needs a clean address
Your computer runs in the Netherlands. Its traffic can leave through a static address of a regular internet provider in one of 8 countries. Only your account works from that address.
- From a data-center address
- Sites see a server range shared with thousands of strangers. The agent's browser hits more captchas and blocks.
- From your Clean exit IP
- Sites see a regular internet provider's address in the country you picked. Fewer captchas, and less reason for Claude or ChatGPT to flag your account: nobody else works from it.
One plan for OpenClaw
Plus
- 4 vCPU, 4 GB memory, 40 GB disk, root and Docker
- Uno Work in the cloud: chats with the agent that installs and looks after OpenClaw
- 10 boosts a month: 8 GB for an hour, enough to build the Docker image from source
- 100 GB of cloud storage for files that outlive the computer
The model is a separate bill
- OpenClaw needs a model account. Bring your own API key, or the sign-in the onboarding wizard offers.
- A busy agent can use many tokens. Set a spending limit at the model provider before you leave it running.
- Small has 1 GB. The OpenClaw docs do not say that is enough, so we do not promise it.
Before you start
Will my Telegram bot answer while the computer sleeps?
Not on long polling, OpenClaw's default: it cannot wake a sleeping computer. Keep the computer awake, or try OpenClaw's webhook mode. We have not tested that mode on Uno.
Does it fit on Small?
The docs give no minimum, and Small has 1 GB. Start on Plus; you can move down later.
Can I do the install myself?
Yes. It is a root Linux computer, so the commands from the guide work there. The agent saves you the typing.
